RE: A ray of hope - Niemeyer Trailer Sales - Elko, MN

A local dealer told me a few years ago I could tow a 21 ft Hybrid with my Ford Ranger. I ended up purchasing a 2000 lb pup from a different dealer. The Ranger towed it OK but I wouldn't want anything heavier for sure.

RE: 2007-2008 Fleetwood Power Lift Recall

Brought my '07 Utah CP in for it's Recall. Last month they said it would take 45 minutes when the part gets in....today, they said 3 hours. I told them I'd be back later, take your time and do it right....they called 1 hour later and said I need a Wiffle Tree and it wouldn't be covered...the Shear Pin was'nt coming out and they would have to replace it....not covered under Warranty.....I told them it's less than a year old, then they said "maybe our Tech did something wrong"....long story short, all warrantied and SHOULD be done in about 3 weeks (waiting on parts):M I thought the lift system has a lifetime warranty.

RE: Refrigerator on Propane Works Poorly

Keep in mind... when on AC, the fridge is self regulating. On propane, you set the temp... and it isnt regulated.... hence the warmer during the day and frozen during the night.... I turn mine down during the night, then back up again during the day.... should help a bit.. :) thats exactly how mine works.

RE: First time out woes

make sure the tip of the thermocouple is in the flame of the pilot light. If it's not the gas will shut off.

RE: I was stupid, again...

Okay, my home a/c guy recommended buying a new unit instead of trying a repair. I found a unit on-line for $438. My rv repair shop will match the price and do the labor @ $95/hour for 1/5 hours. Total for my blunder = $580.50. The good news is, I will have a brand new a/c and a three year warranty on it. I wonder if the waranty covers 5/16 drill bits into the condensor?:S Most warranties only cover 1/4 drill bits.

RE: Bag Awning Question

Do you have all the poles stored in the bag? It shouldn't flop around with the poles in it.

RE: Condensation?

If the bolts are loose ,the ac unit may have moved from the proper position. If you find the bolts loose I would replace the gasket.

RE: Buying a trailer - too many choices/decisions!

I'm not a tax man but I don't think the Jayco 1207 will qualify as a second home.

RE: Mr Heater off distribution pole, still need filter?

one hose on one side will work both sides so you can get the 18,000 btus from it you dont need two hoses .i run mine on high off one hose all the time. Ditto

RE: Winterizing 2007 Jayco 1007

my 2005 jayco didn't have a bypass from the factory,i had to add it.find the cabinet that has the water heater and look for a 6 inch hose connecting the inlet and outlet.if you don't have that part you will need to install a bypass kit for around $20.Don't fill the water heater with antifreeze ,it will cost more than the bypass kit.

RE: Winterizing without a hot water heater bypass

Our Jayco 1207 did not come with a by-pass. I liked the one in our Jayco Kiwi, but I thought $15+ was overpriced. I took two 1/2MPT hose barbs and a foot of 1/2" tubing. Unscrewed the connectors from the hot water heater and connected them to the hose barbs. Sinple and quick for under $2. i did the same with my 1207 but after disconnecting a few times the connections leaked.a permanent bypass is the way to go.

RE: St. Louis Trip - Wonderful!!!

nice to hear you enjoyed your trip.the movie "monument to a dream" is very interesting.my grandfather was among the skeptics here, unsure the legs of the arch would meet at the top. you may have noticed a lot of trees missing around the paths.the master plan calls for the same species of trees to be planted along the paths.since the current species is ash they will not be replanted.it is only a matter of time that the dreaded emerald ash borer arrives here.

RE: Inside Lights Didn't Work

it might be a good idea to do away with these connectors and solder the wires together.my coleman does the same thing once in a while.

RE: I lost my outside fridge cover. Starcraft 3606

heres a tip about your water problem.i have never felt comfortable leaving the water hooked up to the city inlet and many advise turning it off when away from the camper.i just fill up the tank and use the on board water pump.when away it is easier to flip the switch off than turn the faucet off.
